Aston Martin – Not just for 007
When you see an Aston Martin you think of James Bond, or at least we do here at Car Magic. The Aston Martin website shows the evolution of the Aston Martin and the relationship with 007 through the years. There are some great shots to be found like this Aston Martin DB5 and Sean Connery in Goldfinger, as well as the Aston Martin DBS from Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. It’s a shame the DB9 wasn’t ever used in a James Bond film (check the full list here on Wikipedia) as we think it is probably just as worthy.
Aston Martin – DB9
“DB”, are perhaps some of the best-known initials in the motoring world. They belong to Sir David Brown who bought the company for £25,000 in 1947. He merged the fine-handling but underpowered Aston chassis, with the twin-cam six engine of the Bentley-developed Lagonda (another of his personal purchases!) and created the handsome Aston Martin DB2 – the first in a line of “DB” badged sporting legends. “It’s not just an engineering accomplishment, it’s not just structurally perfect, it’s not just light in weight but it’s also beautifully designed. There’s a flavour to an Aston Martin DB9 that no other product has.” Watch the DB9 video to hear more. The DB9 that came into us earlier this month is pictured below with its iconic Aston Martin badge but unfortunately some damage to the rear bumper.
It didn’t take the Car Magic team long to fill, prime and respray this damaged area of the rear bumper on the Aston Martin DB9. It was then time for a valet, wash, wax and polish.
Once finished, we sent the Aston Martin DB9 off into the night looking as good as any we’ve seen on the big screen. We couldn’t possibly comment on whether the owner is a local 007 or not…
