Electric vehicles in the UK by 2030, is the infrastructure ready?
46% of UK consumers, who do not currently own hybrid or electric vehicles would definitely buy or seriously consider buying an electric vehicle in the next five years according to a report by Renewable Energy Magazine.
Electric vehicles in the UK
There are challenges to the rollout of electric vehicles (EVs) in the UK. This is despite the recent government plans to prioritize their adoption in the near future. Almost half of the people interested in buying EVs, don’t feel confident they have access to reliable charging infrastructure. Especially those in rural and suburban areas. Some people expressed concerns and a lack of confidence in charging a vehicle at their own home. These are all important factors to consider as the UK works towards a greener future.
Last week we undertook repairs to this 2019 Lexus ES 300h. It’s not a car we’ve seen often, in fact, the last time we talked about electric cars on the blog was in 2018 when the new cars deadline of 2040 was announced. It’s clear that electric vehicles still have a way to go in becoming a solid choice for most drivers, but Lexus claim this self-charging hybrid “shatters preconceptions about executive saloons”. They say the ES is lower, wider, and sleeker with a coupé-like silhouette that offers a mixture of roominess and refinement. It’s certainly a smart-looking option if you’re looking to make the move to a hybrid.
At Car Magic and Non-Fault Car Accident Repair, we carry out repairs on all makes and models of cars and most vans from our workshop in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. This Lexus ES 300h needed work on the front bumper which was repaired and painted. We then fitted a brand new headlight – the 3-eye LED unit set the owner back a cool £1800! The three ultra-small LED units deliver exceptional light distribution, are equipped with sequential turn signal indicators and multi-weather lights for foggy conditions.
