Body repairs to start the 2019 racing season!
Last year we embarked on our first foray into the world of motorsport. At Car Magic and Non Fault Car Accident Repair we decided to sponsor a local aspiring racing driver called Matthew Pollard. Matt and his Mazda MX-5 entered into the BRSCC Mazda-MX-5 Championship in 2018 and we were on hand for all necessary body repairs as he raced his way around the UK. If you haven’t seen our Motorsport page it’s well worth a read up on Matt’s progress from April 2018 to date.
Body repairs for the Mazda MX-5
Ahead of this year’s racing, the Mazda MX-5 was in need of some body repairs. We had the car in earlier this month for two new wings and some paintwork. The front bumper and the nearside were both in need of some master paintwork from our team. Luckily we have our low-bake oven right here in the workshop. That means we can handle the repairs and the paint touch ups all in one place. If you’re not familiar with how this car looks at it’s best, check out this shot of Matt racing at Silverstone last year. We really enjoy the challenge of working on this Mazda MX-5 sometimes on a tight schedule and we’re excited for the 2019 racing season.
The Mazda MX-5 racing season kicks off at the end of March 2019. The first weekend will see Matt and his fellow MX-5 drivers travel to Brands Hatch. He is under the support of AB Motorsport who look after all the preparation and setup for test days, track days and race meets. Matt is going to be busy from March through to the last race weekend takes place at Silverstone.

Last year’s racing ended with Matt taking home the award for ‘Rookie of the Year 2018’ at the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 ‘Night of Champions’. He was thrilled to meet Chairman Peter Daly to receive his trophy as pictured below. We’ve heard that there are 18 drivers tackling their first full season in the Mazda MX-5 Championship for 2019. No longer a rookie, we can expect bigger and better things from Matt and his MX-5 this year. Stay tuned for updates!
