Race News – Car trouble but soon a new look!
In our last blog Matt had just taken on his first race weekend at Snetterton which he described as a ‘learning experience’. After the bump and spin in Race 1, Matt was looking to recover and started 14th to fight his way through a group of cars. He broke away from the mid-pack only to miss a gear change from 3rd to 4th on the Bentley Straight. The gear would just not go in and he therefore lost his position to finish 11th.
For the last race of the Snetterton weekend, Matt had ambitions of getting into the top 10. He had a good start, but his car troubles continued and the Mazda MX-5 wasn’t powerful enough on the straights. The air intake hose was trailing underneath by this point (see the photo below), so when Matt returned to the AB Motorsport pit, he was in need of some consolation from his team. All hopes were now pinned on an engine rebuild, the Car Magic ‘go-faster’ livery yet to be fitted and a better result at Cadwell Park.
Car Magic – Getting involved in the race!
Below we have a first look at the Car Magic and Non-Fault Accident Repair branding which has been designed by local graphic designer Katy Etherington. Pictured here at Amber Signs in Berkhamsted, this new livery will soon be fitted to the Mazda MX-5 and we’ll be updating you soon on the new look for Matt to take into the next race weekend.
